Church Street has always been the heart of Bangalore because of the excellent restaurants, the visually pleasing outdoor spots, and mainly because of the vibe it gives. Artists and performers of Church Street are the souls of the vibe. Ranging from broke artists to well-known bands, Church Street has always been a home to art itself. 'Take what you love and pay what you like' initiative has transformed the way the general public views art, making many people appreciate art. And these art are not just artworks; these artworks are full of messages and amazing backstories.
Moreover, what is a Sunday night in Church Street if you are not vibing to a fantastic song with a total stranger? The specialty of performing at Church Street is that it is not done only for money but to spread love and happiness. It has become a model for pedestrianization. When the pandemic happened, it did just affect other sectors; it affected the art itself. But our church street is slowly recovering.
Nesan David, a performer, says that there used to be at least 50 people in the crowd before the pandemic, but now there are only around 25-30 people maximum. He further added that Church Street is one of the most incredible places for displaying your talent, especially for broke artists and bands.

During the pandemic's peak, when Church Street was empty, the place was still full of life because of the graffitis on the wall. Every graffiti was like a company to people. It spoke about equality, love, and life.
Jeevanath Viswanath, an illustrator, said," Usually, I'm not really good with huge crowds. I get stressed. But in Church Street, you are surrounded by different kinds of artists, so you get a sense of belonging there, which really eases the social anxiety. And also the crowd in Church Street is very supportive." When asked about the pandemic situation, he said that he do not see much difference. It is true what people say. Once an artist's heaven, always an artist's heaven.

Despite the unfortunate situation we went through , Church Street always stayed as a place for collaboration and appreciation. "It is not very easy to get a platform to showcase your talent, and it is amazing to witness many young and upcoming talents in Church Street who did not have a platform before. As a person who loves to sing, I aspire to perform at Church Street at least once," said, R.Roshni, a student from Bangalore.
Church Street gives you hope, and it motivates you to be the happiest version of yourself. Church Street will never be just a place.
